sieve

nothans

Sieve checks a folder of Markdown notes against itself. Crosscheck compares every note with every other, from both sides, and lists the pairs that contradict each other, the pairs that make the same point twice, and the notes that have gone stale. It also ranks the whole folder by any plain-English question, and lints notes against plain-English rules in CI. No index, no embeddings, no generated text. Node, no dependencies.

Where Jev makes a decision

Asks one five-way Choice (same, supports, contradicts, topic, unrelated) for every ordered pair of notes, so each pair is judged from both sides; code averages the two probabilities and lists a pair as a contradiction when the average is 50% or more (the default). Ask and lint put one Noul or Score question to each note, and code ranks or gates on the probability.

What this project offers

Finds the notes in a Markdown folder that contradict each other or make the same point twice, with no index and no embeddings; the cost of a run is estimated before anything is spent, and a run stops when it reaches its budget.

Review scope

Author and repository text is preserved where clear; missing languages are enriched automatically. Checks establish source-level Jev integration, not runtime, safety, or performance validation.
